Fashion Trends?

A great place to analyze up-and-coming trends for Generation Y is to check out the scene in other fashion forward countries. Trends can take up to 3 years to make their rounds globally, starting in Japan and Europe and slowly migrating towards the United States. If your brand is one of the first, and willing to take risks, the payoff could be big. Gen Y loves to feel like they are discovering and starting their own trends, and will respect a brand willing to do so too.

This week we are looking at the rebirth of fur, sported on the streets of Japan and Europe by many millennials and only recently hitting the runways of the U.S. (Note: The fur would need to be fake for majority of U.S. millennials to take to the trend, as this generation is characteristically a “cause” generation. They love to feel as if they are supporting and standing for something. Consider combining fashion statements with supporting a cause, such as the Lance Armstrong bracelets that swept across the nation.)
