lol..omg her mall doesn't even have an amphitheatre

Realizing the large size and even larger pocketbooks of Generation Y, developers are now designing entire shopping centers tailored to the wants and needs of Gen Y consumers. Take for example, Vestar Development Co. of Phoenix, Arizona. Their recently completed project, The District, is an all-inclusive mall complete with rock climbing wall, amphitheatre, restaurants, movie theatre, and of course some of Gen Y's favorite retail stores such as Hot Topic and Hollister. A calendar of events for the District can be found on their Web site where Gen Yer’s can log on and view upcoming events such as Texas Hold Em' Tuesday at Jillian’s, or Open Mic Night at the District Stage. David Larcher, excecutive vice president of Vestar, says, "The lifestyle in this characterization is geared towards the Generation-Y consumer." This lifestyle center is setting the stage for other development companies who want to become a trendy spot where Gen Yer's can escape and spend their disposable income; and with an average spending income of $100 per week, among a generation 78 million strong, it’s not a bad idea.
