"Textcast" on iPods

Today's MarketingVOX article "Slate to 'Texcast' on iPod, Lexus to Sponsor" reported of new usage for iPods—'textcast.' Gathering information from the article, "textcasting" is roughly an enhanced podcasts with no audio present, merely the images running in a slideshow/video format. Slate magazine is hoping this new technology, easy to download and portable content will become quickly adopted as opposed to earlier attempts to have e-books take off. Print publications are slowly making their way into the pockets of consumers everywhere. Lexus is set to sponsor the casts, with a logo on the album art section. hmmm...will we soon be able to download viewable versions of magazines like Blender, People, Newsweek and Time? (as iPod slideshows?)

because that would be awesome!

i agree! imagine the sales you could make by marketing slideshow-view versions of Elle, TeenPeople and even TeenBeat to the ott generation~! (the kids born in the 2000's)

the cooler mags like blender could maybe also come with like a free song by the cover's featured artist!

Older ladies could get Cosmo and Oprah, too!

man, i wish i'd thought of that...
