Facebook Boycott?
Facebook, the popular social networking site for college and high school students across America, has recently added an updated feature to its web site that has many users in an uproar. Combining RSS style news feeds with People Magazine style gossip, Facebook now streams a news feed that updates users on their friends' every action, including who they date, who they hate, and what they ate for breakfast. Some, such as the half a million Facebook users in the 'Students Against Facebook Newsfeed' group, claim this is a breach of privacy and want the news feed feature removed or the ability to opt out. By pushing the envelope with this news feed, Facebook may have discovered the fine line that people will draw when connectivity and community interferes with personal privacy.

And now the CEO is apologizing and trying to fix the major problems, one being invasion of privacy but now I just read that Facebook is going to open its doors to all consumers not just college students. In the past you needed a college email to join Facebook. In a way this is what made Facebook different, now with anyone joining, I feel invasion of privacy will become an issue again.
